ABOUT ME

Heather Coughlan is a Canadian artist with a passion for watercolor, acrylics and illustration. Her education spans between fine art, illustration, and graphic design. (with a side foray into architectural engineering) Heather’s primary painting focus is on landscape and portrait expression with a secondary spotlight on digital & hand drawn illustration. Her artwork has been and continues to be on display at Torbay History House & Museum, Admiralty House Communications Museum, Cape St. Mary’s Ecological Reserve, and featured in the Washington Post and Northeast Avalon Times. On permanent display is a 14.5’ landscape mural, “A Little Peace of Home” in the Cancer Care Foundation of the Health Sciences Centre, a 24’ collage-style mobile mural, “Evolution of Paradise” - a celebration of the Town of Paradise’s 50th anniversary, in the Paradise Double Ice Arena, and a 8.5’ x 9’ mural “Ocean Dreams” and five digital illustrations in the new Mental Health and Addictions Facility.

Heather’s artwork was chosen to adorn the 2025 Jeux de Canada Games medals and the games are taking place in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador this August.
